SYRIZA condemns desecration of Holocaust monument
Main opposition Radical Left Coalition (SYRIZA), in an announcement on Friday, condemned the desecration of the Holocaust Monument in central Athens by a group of extremists, saying it offends all of Greek society.
An extreme nationalist and antisemitic organisation called Unaligned Meandros Nationalists (AME) sprayed graffiti over the monument during the night and signed its initials.
"The desecration of the Holocaust monument insults Greek society and the memory of tens of thousands of Greek Jews who died in concentration camps," SYRIZA said in an announcement.
"We have to raise a wall against the resurgence of anti-Semitism and fascism, which threaten all of Europe."
