Court hearing on murder of DIAS police officers postponed
A criminal appeals court on Tuesday, 11/11/2014, postponed the hearing concerning the murders of two DIAS motorcycle police officers until February 2, 2015.
Three individuals were convicted of the murders by a lower court, while another 11 suspects are facing trial as members of the a criminal organisation.
The incident concerns the shooting deaths of two officers, Giorgos Skylogiannis, 22, and Yiannis Evangelinelis, 23, in the district of Rendi in March 2011, during police pursuit of two men that had robbed a shop in Menidi. Other officers were also injured during the exchange of fire.
