Repair work underway after train derailment near Edessa

TRAINOSE crews work to repair damaged track and train cars after a derailment last night near the city of Edessa in northern Greece, it was announced on Sunday. None of the 70 passengers on board was hurt.

The train servicing the Thessaloniki-Florina line derailed as a result of rockfall just before entering a tunnel in the region of Garefi.

The Edessa-Florina train service has been interrupted temporarily until the damage is fixed and commuters use buses to reach their destination.
