'We are one step away from exiting the crisis"

Culture Minister Constantinos Tassoulas attended a party event in Serres, Northern Greece on the 40 year anniversary since the founding of New Democracy and referred to the difficult negotiation of the government with the troika.

"Everything is up to us. We are one step away from exiting the crisis, that is why the negotiation is so difficult and has all these fluctuations. This is the last review of the country by our lenders; it is a difficult one, however it is the last one and after that, things get simpler," he told reporters.

"The New Democracy is the most responsible, the most patriotic, and therefore the more European and modern party. It undertook huge responsibilities two years ago and ignored the political cost...This cost does not frighten us; we undertook it because we knew the country had to stay on its feet. From this point onwards, it is up to us to ensure the stability that the country needs, that the Greek people ask for and mainly the stability that will not destroy the sacrifices that the people made in the last four years," he noted.
