Early elections are a democratic way out and not a deviation

A government centered around SYRIZA can be successful if it governs together with the Greek people, party MP and parliament vice-president Yiannis Dragassakis underlined in a conference hosted in Athens by Levy Economics Institute of Bard College.

Addressing the conference on Saturday evening, Dragassakis underlined that the people should be at the foreground and the role of the citizens should be reinforced.

He said that "SYRIZA and its policy constitute hope" and "early elections are a democratic way out and not a deviation".

He underlined that the memorandums should be abolished, the necessary reforms should be implemented and real negotiation with the EU should get underway.

Referring to SYRIZA's programme, he said that is not just an anti-memorandum programme but it is aimed at the consolidation of a new production model. He said that the basic goals of the programme is to combat unemployment, to proceed with the institutional reorganization of the state and society and promote a different production model.

Referring to the reforms implemented, he said that in the past few years the "job market has turned into a labour jungle".
