SYRIZA leader Tsipras on nationwide strike
The deadlock of the submission and servitude strategy to the most absurd commands and desires of the troika has been confirmed today in the most dramatic way, main opposition SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras said on Thursday regarding the nationwide strike.
"Today, the deadlock of the strategy of the good and obedient student which the Samaras government has chosen for two and a half years is confirmed. And unfortunately today we are in a much worse position than the one we were in 2012," Tsipras added.
"The only realistic way out is the course of rupture with the absurdity of the necessary prerequisites and austerity prior actions, the dismantling of social cohesion, the destruction of the productive base of the country.
And this course can be effectively followed only with the leading role of the popular movement. As today, with the massive participation in the strike and the protests.
But mainly through the inevitable and necessary appeal to the popular verdict which will give a strong mandate to a government of social salvation to negotiate, that will take the place out of the deadlock, opening perspectives, progressive and democratic perspectives for all Europe, for all the peoples of Europe.
And we think that now is the time for this great and decisive step," Tsipras concluded.
