Former MP the 'brain' of criminal organization
The First Instance Court Prosecutor of Athens gave a mandate to issue arrest warrants against ten persons, among them a former MP, for felony.
These persons, over five years, they allegedly exploited wealthy elderly, by preparing fake handwritten wills.
"Brain" of the criminal organization is reportedly a former MP, who also previously been convicted of fraud.
The investigation of justice showed that the defendants initially approached lonely people who were affluent. Then were making fake handwritten wills, with which bequeathed to any of the members of the organization, their assets, immediately after their death.
According to information, the activities of the criminal organization began to unfold after the death of three brothers and the finding that the vast estate went to the third "suspicious" persons.
Already at the expense of the persons involved, the prosecutor Dimitris Gizis, has exercised prosecution for:
- criminal organization
- distinguished fraud in court, repeatedly
- direct synergy in the above act, as appropriate
- distinguished, repeated forgery
- perjury of witness
The judicial authorities do not exclude that there are other similar cases. For this reason, the investigator, who will now handle the main investigation of the case, is asked to investigate in that direction.
