How can the vote tendency of the members change

The possibly small number of the positive votes, in the first vote for election of Stavros Dimas as new President of the Greek Republic, apparently will decisively influence the final outcome of the effort.

However, there are three reasons, or rather three "points" that can change the view of some Members in the second and, especially, in the third vote.

The first point is the summit of the European Union on 18 and 19 December. The independent MP Vassilis Economou, said unequivocally: I will await the outcome of the summit to see "what will happen with the negotiations." Of course, the annotated agenda of the Summit, as published on the website of the European Council, is rather vague and does not reveal any developments in Greek issue: It reports that the Council "will further explore ways to strengthen growth, employment and competitiveness of Europe and possibly will set new guidelines." What this has to do with the Greek case? It remains to be seen.

The second point is the fate of the joint motion of eight MPs, who ask a President election from this House, promotion of Constitutional Review and agreement on holding elections in 2015. Already the MP, Niki Founda, one of the Members who signed the text, has linked her final stance with the fate of this proposal. Note, that yesterday the known Merrill Lynch consulting firm, estimated that a "package" as described in the text of the eight MPs, calling on popular verdict "the latest until September" can convince a critical number of members, to achieve election of President of Republic by this House on December 29, 2014.

Finally, the third and undesirable point can be an extraordinary event, which might create a major problem for the country. Given that the surprise initiative of Samaras, which accelerated the procedures of President's election, led the Stock Market to a crash and the spreads soared, someone can wonder what could be this "major event", which could cause some members to want to avoid the popular verdict.

However, these "points" can be the cause for some MPs to change their view, but could be just an excuse...
