PM Tsipras to meet with Eurogroup chief Dijsselbloem today

Eurogroup chief Jeroen Dijsselbloem is visiting Athens on Friday to meet with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras and Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis.

According to the Finance ministry, this meeting will open the negotiation with Greece's partners that will lead to a sustainable, total agreement on the reconstruction of the country's social economy within the framework of an evolving Europe.

Dijsselbloem, who will be accompanied by the president of the Euroworking Group Thomas Wieser, in statement from Amsterdam on Thursday said that "it is very early to be judged" referring to what Tsipras' government will really do.

The Dutch official said that he is ready to listen to Athens' proposals on the debt relief adding that what is more important for Greece is to simply follow the agreements adding that if there are higher state expenses that will turn the fiscal surplus into a deficit then a debt relief will not help.

He also underlined that Greece "has the ambition" to remain in the eurozone and its partners share the same view.
