Ferries remain docked due to strong gale force winds

The ban on ferry departures from the ports of Piraeus, Rafina and Lavrio due to gale-force winds in the Aegean reaching up to 10 Beaufort continues on Saturday.

Ships leaving Piraeus will only sail as far as the island of Aegina in the Saronic Gulf and only closed-type vessels will be allowed to sail. There will be no ferries to the Cyclades island group, Crete or the islands of the eastern and northeastern Aegean.

Kyllini-Zakynthos and Kyllini Cephalonia ferry links are also closed.

The Piraeus-Salamina ferry link will remain open.

The Greek Coast Guard and the port authorities suggest to passengers that are due to sail to contact their travel agents before departure.
