Earthquake 4.7 Richters off the coast of Crete shakes southern city of Ierapetra
An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale occurred at 11:23 on Saturday (02/05) morning under the sea off the southern coast of Crete, the southern Aegean island.
According to the National Observatory of Athens' Geodynamic Institute, the earthquake's epicenter was 60 km south of Ierapetra, at a depth of 10 km. It was felt in the greater Ierapetra area, but as of Saturday noon no damages had been reported.
