Kammenos asks U.S. help with IMF to close deal with lenders
National Defence Minister Panos Kammenos on Friday called for the U.S. intervention to speed up and complete the ongoing negotiations between Greece and its lenders by putting pressure on the IMF, following a meeting with U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Victoria Nuland in Washington.
"The negotiation is going rather well, as the prime minister informed me,” Kammenos told Nuland and briefed her about developments in the talks.
"The U.S. should help one more time in this difficult moment of the negotiations,” the minister added and noted that there “will be good news soon” as the alliance realizes that “ISIS is expanding and Greece has to be stabilized by all means available.”
