Health Min Kouroumblis on hirings of medical staff
Health Minister Panagiotis Kouroumblis on Monday (25/05) in an interview with Athina 9.84 radio station said that 4,000 hirings of medical staff have been approved.
However, he noted that the procedure for hiring doctors lasts at least 1.5-2 years and called on the Greek Medical Association to speed it up because the greatest problem of the sector is the lack of staff.
"We are making an effort to keep the system on its feet, but reports that the market has run out of drugs are exaggerations," he added.
Regarding the negotiations and the agreement, Kouroumblis said: "The proposal that the government will submit to the Parliament will be voted, whatever it is."
