The July 12 agreement applies on the Greek debt 'haircut', German FinMin spokeswoman says
What applies for the German government is the agreement of the July 12 summit, deputy spokeswoman for the German Finance Ministry Friederike von Tiesenhausen replied to a question on whether a "haircut" of Greek debt would be allowed by the rules of the eurozone.
Asked to estimate whether the conclusion of the negotiations between Greece and the institutions until August 20 is realistic, she said that she does not want to make any assessment, and noted that the negotiations will probably start these days.
"What matters is to make careful negotiations. As to exactly when they will be completed, we will see," she stated.
