Defence Min Kammenos instists on Mouzalas' resignation

Defence Minister and Independent Greeks leader Panos Kammenos in his meeting with Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Wednesday (16/03/2016) insisted on the resignation of Alternate Minister for Migration Policy Yiannis Mouzalas.

In statements outside the Maximos Mansion, Kammenos, who is the junior coalition government partner, noted that the prime minister will wait for the EU ministers' summit and the return of Mouzalas in Athens before decisions are taken. He also clarified that the minister does not have the confidence vote of Independent Greeks' parliamentary group.

Asked whether he will remain in the government if Mouzalas does not resign and whether his relation with the prime minister has been affected, Kammenos stated: "Our relation with Tsipras is clear, as it is our confidence vote to the government, but Mr Mouzalas does not have our vote of confidence."
