Coast guard rescues 21 migrants stranded on small island
The Greek coast guard rescued 21 refugees and migrants on Tuesday who were left stranded by a trafficker on a beach of Pserimos, a small Greek island in the Dodecanese chain, after crossing from the Turkish coast.
The six Afghanis, two Pakistanis and 13 Syrians, among whom seven children, were helped by local residents who alerted authorities.
The coast guard then transferred them to Kalyymnos where they will be processed.
