Customs office at Greek-Skopje border closed by farmers
The customs office at Evzones, near Greece’s border with Skopje, was blocked by farmers and livestock farmers from the municipality of Peonia on Saturday (03/12/2016), who are protesting about the increase in taxation and changes in their social security fees.
Speaking to Athens-Macedonian News Agency, the president of their union Thomas Karipidis, said the office will be closed until 15:00 unless "it is deemed necessary" to open it if traffic piles up.
Around 50 tractors and 50 farming equipment have been parked around the customs office which closed at noon.
