The restoration of collective negotiations is a critical issue for the government because they protect the employees, something that cannot be done at an individual level, in negotiations between the employer and the employee, Labour Minister Efi Achtsioglou on Saturday (21/01/2017) said in an interview with Agora newspaper.
She also said she is against the increase of the number of mass layoffs adding that these are unreasonable demands of the IMF side and they just hinder the conclusion of the programme review. She also accused the main opposition New Democracy of being aligned with the IMF positions.
"Our position is that in a country with so high unemployment rates, the increase in the number of mass layoffs is absolutely unreasonable," she underlined.
