Dead refugees wash up on Mytilene beach after boat sinks off Mythimna
The bodies of eight refugees were found on a beach near Mythimna, Mytilene, on Monday. Sources said that a pregnant woman was found alive.
The refugees were on board a vessel that sank early Monday off the coast of Mythimna.
According to Shipping Ministry, three man, four women and a young boy are among the dead.
The number of migrants or refugees that were on the boat that capsized early Monday in the sea region off Mythimna is still unknown.
A rescue operation is underway to locate any missing refugees or migrants.
