Greek budget deficit at 320 mln euros in Jan-May

Greek state budget showed a primary deficit of 320 million euros in the January-May period on a cash basis, the Bank of Greece said on Friday.

In a report, the central bank said that in January-May 2017, the central government cash balance recorded a deficit of 320 million euros, compared to a deficit of 208 million in the same period of 2016. During this period, ordinary budget revenue amounted to 16,935 million euros, compared to 17,175 million in the corresponding period of last year. Ordinary budget expenditure, including expenditure of about 723 million for the repayment of arrears, amounted to 19,878 million euros, from 18,366 million in January-May 2016.
