Three firemen hospitalized with burns, one house, cars destroyed in Anavyssos fire
Three firemen were hospitalized with burns, one house was completely destroyed and two more suffered serious damages in a fire that swept through Anavyssos, a coastal area in southeastern Attica, on Thursday.
The fire department said two cars and a firefighting truck were also reduced to ashes in the blaze that is continuing to burn low vegetation. Firefighting forces have managed to encircle the fire but scattered flames continue to burn.
Fifty firemen with 27 vehicles, a team on foot and 12 municipal water tankers are on site, while two helicopters have stopped dropping water for the evening.
