Parliament approves in principle health bill on primary care

A health ministry bill introducing changes to primary care was approved in principle during a parliament session on Thursday.

During the vote, SYRIZA and ANEL voted in favour of the bill, New Democracy, Golden Dawn, Democratic Coalition and the Communist Party voted against, while Potami and the Centrists Union voted “present”.

Speaking in parliament earlier, Health Minister Andreas Xanthos said the bill forms a feasible implementation plan for the development of a network of public primary care services.

He also said the ministry posted on “Diavgia” website a tender for about 3,000 job openings for doctors and medical staff via the Supreme Council for Civil Personnel Selection (ASEP).
