Greek stocks end lower

Greek stocks ended lower in the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday following two days of gains, while turnover remained low.

The general index of the market recorded losses of 0.43 pct to end at 829.16 points, having reached an intraday high of 83.75 and a low of 827.96 points. Turnover was at just 26.941 million euros in a volume of 17,693,591 shares. The Large Cap index fell 0.52 pct while the Mid Cap index lost 0.14 pct.

Titan (0.78 pct), OLP (0.69 pct) and Grivalia Properties (0.34 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains among blue chip stocks while National Bank (-1.37 pct), Aegean Airlines (-1.20 pct) and OPAP (-1.05) suffered losses.

In terms of sectors, Health (1.14 pct) and Construction (0.37 pct) scored gains, while Travel (-1.05 pct) and Banks (-0.94 pct) recorded the biggest losses. Alpha Bank and National Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 55 to 40 with another 30 issues unchanged.

GEKE (13.90 pct), Revoil (12.88 pct) and Yalco (7.69 pct) were top gainers, while Dionic (-19.30 pct), Pegasos (-18.06 pct) and GE Dimitriou (-17.86 pct) were top losers.
