Greek stocks end flat

Greek stocks ended flat in the Athens Stock Exchange on Friday in a subdued trading session with low turnover.

The general index of the market recorded marginal losses of 0.03 pct to end at 835.30 points. On a weekly basis, the main index gained 1.27 pct and 2.84 pct from the start of August. From the start of the year, the index has risen 29.78 pct.

Turnover was at 29.249 million euros in a volume of 16,311,229 shares. The Large Cap index lost a marginal 0.08 pct and the Mid Cap index fell 0.63 pct.

Titan (2.10 pct), Viohalco (1.60 pct) and ADMHE (1.43 pct) scored the biggest percentage gains among blue chip stocks while OPAP (-1.58 pct), Attica Bank (-1.03 pct) and Sarantis (-0.99) suffered losses.

In terms of sectors, Construction (1.24 pct), Technologies (1.04 pct) and Industrial Products (1.02 pct) scored gains, while Health (-2.82 pct) and Travel (-1.42 pct) recorded the biggest losses.

National Bank and Alpha Bank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, decliners led advancers by 55 to 37 with another 29 issues unchanged. Hatzikranioti (19.17 pct), Akritas (18.75 pct) and Pegasos (17.14 pct) were top gainers, while Nexans (-20 pct), SIDMA (-19.43 pct) and Vioter (-19.35 pct) were top losers.
