Hydrofoil engine breaks down off Aegina - Passengers safe

A hydrofoil travelling from Aegina to Piraeus on Monday was forced to return to the island after suffering a malfunction in one of its two engines, it was announced.

The "Flying Dolphin Athina" had sailed from Aegina with 141 passengers at 19:25 but stopped outside the port. It returned to Aegina and all the passengers were transferred to the ferry "Apollon" to continue their journey.

The hydrofoil will stay at the port until the malfunction is fixed.
