SYRIZA condemns attack on party's Rethymno offices
An attack with an incendiary device that burnt out the party's offices in the city of Rethymno, Crete in the early hours of Saturday morning was "a blatantly criminal and fascist-type action, which all the democratic political world has a duty to condemn," SYRIZA said in an announcement.
"There is no excuse or pretext for this sort of behaviour, which clearly seeks to intimidate the people of the Left and a generalised shift to fascism in society," it added.
"We are not terrorised and we are not afraid. We are determined to continue the struggle to exit the crisis with society upright," the announcement concluded, calling for a "constant social and political front to isolate fascism in any form and to protect democracy."
