Quantity of radioactive ruthenium almost zero in the Greek atmosphere, says EEAE

The detectable quantities of the radioactive isotope ruthenium-106 were almost zero in Greece's atmosphere on Thursday, according to the Greek Atomic Energy Commission (EEAE).

Between October 5-11, the measurements showed that the traces of ruthenium in the atmosphere were below 0.2 mBq/m3, which barely reaches the traceable limit.

The Commission reiterated that these concentration levels are not harmful for people's health or for the environment. It also said that the source of the isotope is not inside Greek territory and remains unknown.
