Gov't will rapidly compensate flood victims and restore damages, says Tzanakopoulos
The goverment will immediately proceed to restore damages and compensate flood victims in western Attica, as soon as there is a complete picture of the situation in the affected areas, State Minister and government spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos said to "Sto Kokkino" radio on Friday, underlining that this was Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' pledge.
Tzanakopoulos said that the goverment will be in position to make the necessary announcements next week, since the relevant procedures will be completed rapidly and without bureaucratic obstacles.
He made it clear that the government will not abandon the flood-stricken citizens to their fate. "I believe that next week we will be in a position to make the necessary announcements," concluded Tzanakopoulos.
