European Parliament discussing deadly Attica floods
The European Parliament plenum started discussing on Wednesday afternoon the deadly floods that affected western Attica two weeks ago and ways to support Greece in a debate titled "Deadly floods in Attica region and disaster relief aid".
"I will ask on behalf of the European Left to exhaust all possibilities for tangible European solidarity," MEP Dimitris Papadimoulis said earlier in a tweet.
The proposal to discuss the issue was submitted by the European Left and the European People's Party (EPP) and approved with a wide majority.
