Group assumes responsibility for bombing of Appeals Court in Athens
The "Popular Fighters Group" assumed responsibility on Wednesday for last Friday's bombing of the Athens Court of Appeals and the shooting of a court guard.
In a posting on the antiestablishment site Indymedia, the group said they staged the attack because "civil justice" is the "laundering machine of capitalism."
The attack was called in 40 minutes before it occurred. It destroyed the entrance of the court, and the guard - who was shot at with a machine gun by the fleeing bombers - escaped injury.
