Gov't is protecting more than 70 pct of first homes, Stathakis says

In statements to Ant1 TV, Stathakis said that all first homes up to 200,000 euros and families with annual income up to 40,000 euros are protected and underlined that "there is an agreement with banks not to auction first homes worth less than 300,000 euros. Stathakis defended the government's policy on the issue saying there were three laws protecting first homes.

The minister said that main opposition New Democracy (ND) has lost all battles in its effort to destabilise the government and that now was raising the issue of government's stability in a period when serious talks are underway on the FYROM name issue, an issue that ND created in the first place.
