Gov't has brought order to public finances, says Tzanakopoulos
Goverment spokesman Dimitris Tzanakopoulos on Wednesday strongly attacked main opposition leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis on the draft law on energy as well as on the off-shore company that some newspaper articles linked with the party leader's wife Mareva Grabowski, during his briefing to the press.
On issue of economy, Tzanakopoulos focused on Eurostat's report showing that the Greek economy recorded 4 pct of GDP and 0.8 fiscal surplus of GDP.
The government not only has managed to bring order to state finances but in the last two years it has proceed to a distribution of social dividend that exceeds 2 billion euros, he said. This, he said, is a very strong argument in Greece's negotiations with the IMF, which for three successful years he said has understimated the performance of the Greek economy.
Nobody can dispute any more that fiscal adjusment in Greece has concluded and that it is now necessary to speed up all necessary proecudures towards a clean exit from the loan programme in August 2018.
