The world's oldest person in Vietnam
A 121-year old woman from Vietnam is the oldest living person, local officials said, on Wednesday.
Nguyen Thu Tru lives in Ho Chi Minh City with her youngest son, who is 72-year old.
She had 11 children, four of whom only 4 are still alive.
"We have sufficient evidence that proves Tru was born on May 4, 1893, such as documents granted by the Republic of South Vietnam and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam," said the director of the Vietnam Guinness Book Centre, Le Tran Truong An.
He also added that World Records Organization Guinness will be asked to recognize Tru as the oldest-living woman in the world, outweighing 116-year-old Misao Okawa (photo) from Japan.
