Netherlands received the first victims' bodies from crashed Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 in a mournful ceremony at Eindhoven air base.

Forty hearses left for the town of Hilversum where the formal identification process will begin.

Thousands of people lined the 100 km (62 mile) route, watching the forty hearses that headed to Hilversum, where the formal identification process will begin, a task that could take months.

Since the majority of the crash victims were Dutch, this day was declared as a National Day of mourning.

After amid U.S. accusations that the rebels shot the civilian plane down in error with a Russian-supplied missile, Ukrainian pro-Russian rebels have been widely accused by Dutch society.
