Alexis Tsipras: “Samaras must not wait for February”

Alexis Tsipras wants procedures for electing the President of the Republic to start earlier.

The president of SYRIZA with statements in the Sunday’s edition of “Eleftherotypia” makes an open call to Antonis Samaras to start the process: “If Samaras is so sure that he has 180 members, we mustn’t wait for February. However, when you refuse to open the House to proceed a request of 139 members on the case of the electric company, without hesitating to violate the Constitution itself, just because you'll lose, it’s funny to say that you have secured 180 for the presidential election”.

“I don’t think there will be one serious person who wants to represent the modern Tsirimokos. Besides, if national elections don’t happen earlier, which is very likely, the presidential election won’t judge the candidate, but determine whether this coalition of politics of destruction can and should continue”.

The president of SYRIZA declares that “it’s time for the foreign patrons and domestic protected to take a decision: The coalition and memorandums are counting days. This is the last summer of haze in the country. Things will change and will change very quickly”. Tsipras also spoke of unity stressing “we want to win robust majority, but with our hand stretched for unity, not for fights.

So we will set lists that will bring us to self-reliance”. Finally, he adds that “historically our inspiring example is EAM, and not the bankrupt robust of PASOK, New Democracy and the neoliberal consensus that threw Greece to the rocks”.
