The HRADF "sells" commando camp in Rhodes

It may sound incredible, but the sale list of HRADF is a region in Rhodes, in which is established a commando camp!

This area is in the location "Vouno" in Kalathos on Lindos and was ceded to the Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund SA (HRADF SA) with the No. 234/2013 decision of the Interministerial Committee for Restructuring and Privatization. According to the Gazette - 1020 V/25-4-2013, among others are transferred to HRADF, in order to be sold, the No. 1767 and 1248 land properties, in the area of Kalathos, of 231,450 sq.m.

As revealed the newspaper "The Democratic Rhodes", this area has already been transferred in full ownership and possession to the HRADF, after its publication on the Gazette, without any response, because nobody had realized that this is an area in which is the camp of the elite commando soldiers of the battalion of Rhodes.

Specifically in the camp is installed the 6 ° ETETH, Special Forces, which is characterized by the highest operational readiness. Among the area that was transferred to HRADF, are the KM 1249, and the coastal area comprised between the limits (right and left) of the camp, a total area of 24.483 m2, which lies within the fence of the camp and corresponds to the beach in front of the KM 1249. Furthermore, in the strategic hill corresponding to KM 1249, have built underground tunnels and have stored critical materials. Also in a part of the beach of 24.483 m2, there is a port, to increase operational readiness and minimize the response time of the 6th E-TETH.

The most alarming is that according to information cited by the newspaper, executives of HRADF had promptly informed orally and had noted the existence of the camp, but they proceeded apace!

Already the reactions are big, and the 4th Staff Office of ADTE 95 requested with the document, communicated to the General Staff, the cancellation of the concession of the specific area to HRADF, in order to remain in use of the Ministry of National Defense.

The questions are great, for the initial alleged negligence of HRADF to enlist in the privatization program, a critical camp of national importance, but for the fact that more than a year after this land remains for sale. The need for answers is urgent, as the state appears to weaken the defense of the country for the "relief" of debt! Are expected with great interest both the answers and the actions of decision-makers, in order to resolve the issue in favor of national interests.
