Eurostat: Greece 'leads' in unemployment

Greek unemployment keeps the first place among EU member states according to figures released by Eurostat in Brussels on Thursday.

Greece remains first in both unemployment and youth unemployment, which reached 27,3 pct and 56,3 pct in April respectively.

Follows Spain at 24,5 pct and Hungary at 16,3 pct.

The member states that presented the lowest unemployment were Austria at 5 pct, Germany at 5,1pct and Malta at 5.6pct,

According to Eurostat figures, the unemployment rate in the Euro zone reached 11,5 pct in June, down from 11,6 pct in May.

This is the lowest unemployment rate since recorded since September 2012

Compared to June 2013, unemployment dropped in 21 member states, increased in five and remained stable in the Netherlands and Sweden.
