"You aren't alone Palestinian friends"

Thousands of Greeks and Palestinians living in Athens gathered in Syntagma and marched towards the EU offices for the "continuing offense which has all the characteristics of genocide", as mentioned by the protesters, who hoisted a huge banner in front of the Parliament.

They moved under discreet surveillance of police forces. Protesters complained holding Palestinian flags and banners reading "Freedom for Palestine" and "Hands off Gaza", while chanting slogans in support of Palestinians and against Israel.

"We send a message to the Palestinian people that they aren't alone, we are beside them. We urge Israel to stop the bombing and the international community to finally intervene effectively" a protestor told Newsbomb.gr. After remaining for some time, the people left without creating problems and went to the U.S. embassy, where they chanted slogans against U.S.

Their announcement:

"For the third consecutive week, the criminal state of Israel mercilessly bombs civilians in the Gaza Strip attempting in vain to bend the Palestinian resistance.

The Israeli state indiscriminately continues crimes against humanity, even targeting the schools of the United Nations, which shelter over 150,000 internally displaced persons. It denies them the slightest sense of security.

Children's hospitals and patients, ambulances and medical personnel are targeted. The death toll has surpassed 1000 and is increased with the collection of corpses from the ruins. The injured are more than 6,000.

The courageous and steadfast resistance encountered by Israeli soldiers prevents the advance of the Israeli army.

Unable to cause any significant damage in the infrastructure and in the forces of resistance, the Israeli artillery, navy and riveted Israeli tanks continue to cause massive damage to hospitals and to infrastructure of utilities leaving the Gaza Strip without electricity and without water, murdering civilians, children and elderly.

In the same time, the bombing of the Israeli air force. The pilots and aircraft several times have come to Greece for exercises in recent years, but now bomb homes and wipe out families in Gaza. Meanwhile, the West Bank is convulsed by the biggest movements since the Second Intifada.

The full support of the U.S. and EU, which say they are defending the "self-defense" against the Zionists of "Hamas terrorists", encourages war criminals of the state of Israel to continue the slaughter.

On their side are regimes like that of Egypt, which keeps the Rafah crossing closed helping to strengthen the blockade of Gaza.

The Greek government is partly responsible having highlighted the state of terrorism as a "strategic partner" and maintaining excellent cooperation with the terrorist state at all levels. But people from Athens and London to Paris, New York and Cairo, feel different, stand in solidarity with struggling Palestinians and respond to calls to continue to struggle with them in any way.

We join our voices with the protesters from around the world against the murderer state of Israel and are demanding an end to the illegal and immoral blockade of Gaza. Otherwise, there is no possible chance for a truce and peace. We call solidarity trade unions, associations and collectives to our protest on Thursday, July 31st at 7pm at Syntagma Square, as we'll march to the offices of the EU to demonstrate our opposition to the ongoing massacre in Gaza and to demand that the Greek government severs all links the Zionist apartheid.

No cooperation with Israeli apartheid and the Israeli occupation!
Freedom for Palestine!
