Putin: European entrepreneurs are frustrated by their politicians

The companies that go out of the Russian market it will be very hard to return. The West should have seen one step ahead. They wrongly believed that we would not react to the killing of civilians in SE Ukraine, whose "statehood" should be discussed to find a solution.

In a keynote interview, which will air later today on Russian television, Vladimir Putin criticized Western leaders, saying that they should consider the consequences of their policy and their influence in Ukraine and that they wrongly underestimated the reactions of Russia about the Russian-speaking citizens' extermination in SE Ukraine.

"They had to take into account the reaction of Russia. It must be born in mind that Russia cannot stand aside when people are being shot at almost at point-blank," said the Russian leader attacking the western leaders and suggesting their inadequacy: "The relative reaction was of course inevitable, because there they live relatives and friends and everything is so interconnected, so that, those who are contemplating in the West or in other countries, must be one step ahead measuring the consequences of what they do."

The Russian leader has left some hope for understanding, saying that he agreed with Ukrainian President Petros Poroshenko that the crisis in Ukraine will be resolved peacefully with the method of talks, and the errors, such as the seizure of power, should never be repeated. He clarified, however, that the resolution of the crisis will depend on the political will of the current leadership of the country and it is impossible now to be forecast when it will end.

In order to find a real solution should take place a directly ceasefire and begin a meaningful dialogue not for technical issues, but "related to the issues of society's political organization and statehood in southeastern Ukraine to protect legitimate interests of people living there". The spokesman of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov, added later: "Only Ukraine can reach an agreement with Novorossiya, taking into account the interests of Novorossiya, and this is the only way to reach political settlement," i.e. the projected State, set up by the rebels and Russian speakers and consists (so far) of the self-proclaimed Democratic Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.

The Russian leader, however, added that he speaks for intra-Ukrainian dialogue and does not imply that Russia recognize the statehood of Novorossiya, although he is not stopping using this term, causing goose bumps in Kiev. V. Putin repeatedly expressed his respect to the results of the referendum, in which even in war conditions established two republics, stressing the Russian position that "the implementation of the results of the referendum shall be negotiated in Ukraine."
V. Putin also said that Moscow accepts the desire of Kiev and the next humanitarian aid will be transported by rail, while he widens the crack, caused within the EU, saying that he has the assessment that European entrepreneurs are frustrated by the decisions of their politicians, on Russia. "Companies will be difficult to return to the Russian market," observed V. Putin, noting that Moscow now expand its partnerships with various producers from various foreign countries beyond the EU and USA.
