Policeman admits to killing store owner and relative in Piraeus

A 27-year-old policeman was arrested on Saturday after admitting to the murder of a 31-year-old owner of a licensed betting store in Kallipoli, greater Piraeus area.

The policeman had been removed from active duty over involvement in a bribing and blackmail case that took place in February 2013. Prior to his appearance before a misdemeanours court to be read charges, the young man said he was related to the victim by marriage and was led to murder because of financial differences with him.
