Really touching words from young Aris...
As part of a school project, a 12 year old student of sixth grade of primary school, Aris Vasiliou stands with concern and writes a letter on racism. The quote exactly as written: "Racism is a disaster not only for those who suffer and for those who do".
I'm writing this article to tell you how dangerous I find the phenomenon of racism. Racism is something that can physically and mentally kill a child. It isn't fair to ignore a black kid and then salute another kid of the same color. If they took the place of a child who suffers daily from racism, they wouldn't behave this way. Racism is a disaster not only for those who suffer and for those who do. A war could erupt at any moment, because those who receive racism someday might break and get their revenge with damaging actions.
The most fundamental right of a child is love. This has negatively affected their lives and they are thinking about this as we speak how they will avenge it. For these reasons stringent measures must be taken to eradicate racism and for the replenishment of the rights of these children such as education, entertainment and the most fundamental right of a child, love".
