Parents, summer is ahead and the kids' festivals begin!
This year Parathinoupoli, the children's festival in Kalamaria, municipality of Thessaloniki, is dedicated to peace and human solidarity. "Interactive games, theatrical performances, musical performances, storytelling, travel our children and adults in a world that is looking for friendship and solidarity, while its standing united against the difficulties of life and accepts diversity to follow the path of peace in its circle" said the Kalamaria mayor, Theodosis Bakogklidis, referring to the celebration of Parathinoupolis. Parents and children (below 12) will be able to visit in the evenings (from 6 to 10) the Aretsou beach to attend educational programs, plays, puppet shows and various music events. They will also have the opportunity to play in children's workshops. The festival is held for the 14th year and opened on Friday, June 6th, while it ends Sunday, June 8th. Entrance to the festival is free.
Program worth seeing
And the three days, at 9 pm, the main stage of Parathinoupolis will present three performances:
-On Friday, the young visitors of the festival will watch a show with puppets, masks, theater and music entitled "The circle with the doll".
-On Saturday the musical tale of Nadina Kyriazi with music by Giorgos Kazantzis, "The needs and wants on the scarecrow's hat" will be presented. The kindergarten School of Nature participates.
-On Sunday the "Angry mixer" of Dimitri Baslam will rise to center stage. A tale narrated with live orchestra.
