Russian humanitarian aid to south-eastern Ukraine must be delivered to their destination strictly by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), Ukraine's Foreign Ministry stated.
The Ministry statement, published on the night from Thursday to Friday points out that border and customs control, as well as registration of humanitarian aid must be carried out by "authorized bodies of Ukraine."
"An understanding was reached that all humanitarian supplies, including Russian humanitarian aid, would be delivered to destination exclusively by the ICRC. The Committee will also see to it that all logistical aspects connected with the keeping and distribution of aid are observed," the Ministry pointed out.
Meanwhile, according to Interfax News Agency Ukrainian officials are inspecting a controversial Russian aid convoy heading to cities in eastern Ukraine held by pro-Russian rebels.
BBC reports that Ukraine fears the convoy may carry military supplies for the rebels. Russia has rejected the accusation.
