Mitsotakis on the likelihood of a new wage scale

The ministry of administrative reform & e-governance will not discuss a legislative proposal unless there is a broad and substantive consultation first, Administrative Reform Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Monday underlined in a document sent to parliament.

The minister's document concerned the likelihood of a new wage scale in the public sector and was sent in response to a query by independent MP Chryssoula Giatagana.

Mitsotakis underlined, however, that "the legislative initiative for any change in the wage scale of public sector employees belongs to the ministry of finance".
The independent MP, in her query, had cited news reports according to which, the ministry is preparing a new wage scale that has a starting wage of 586 euros.
