The high-security prisons of Domokos will be abolished under a regulation in an omnibus to be released by Justice Minister Nikos Paraskevopoulos next week.
The omnibus bill also includes other favourable regulations for juvenile delinquents, the release of elderly and sick prisoners, users of drugs, and others.
The high-security prisons in Domokos, as Justice minister has already announced, will be abolished and only a small security wing will remain.
Maximum-security wings for specific cases of convicts will be created in other detention centres.
The bill provides for the abolition of juvenile imprisonment between the ages of 15-18, apart from offences incurring life imprisonment sentences, favourable measures for the quicker release of prisoners and special measures for sick, elderly and disabled people.
