Rhodes Airport shut down again on Thursday (24/9) when a pothole re-appeared on the runway.
The 8-meter pothole opened on the landing airstrip on Tuesday evening as a result of the torrential rain that falled on the island. The damage was recovered and the airport reopened early Wednesday.
Currently the aiport authorities examine the possibility to limit the length of the runway at 1,800 metres but the southeasterly wind that is currently blowing over the airport makes the landing and the take off impossible.
No flight to and from Rhodes will be carried out until the problem is solved.
