Convicted 17 November terrorist Xiros requests release for health reasons

Convicted terrorist Savvas Xiros, sentenced to life imprisonment five times for his participation in the terror group 17 November (17N), is petitioning authorities to be released from prison for health reasons.

Xiros is invoking a law offering lifers with heavy disabilities (over 80%) who have already served ten years of their sentences the opportunity to serve the remainder of their sentence at home, if necessary under electronic supervision.

Xiros has been facing serious health problems since 2002, when an explosive device blew up in his hands in Piraeus, leading to his arrest and the dismantling of 17 November.
