Kasselakis: Greece must stop having an' à la carte' relationship with Europe

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Stefanos Kasselakis on Tuesday started his three-day tour to the region of Epirus from the port city of Igoumenitsa.

According to party sources, Kasselakis discussed with the locals on the government's recent decision for the privatisation of the port of Igoumenitsa.

"The ports, especially the hub ports, are public goods, they are geopolitical, they are a national issue, so we should not sell them off without any commitment for the Greek citizens", Kasselakis said.

He also noted that "the main stake for the country's political scene is morality, in order to restore trust" and explained: "Greece lags behind, above all, in morality in politics. Citizens do not trust politics and politicians exploit citizens. This vicious circle must end."

Referring to the upcoming European elections, Kasselakis said that "Greece must stop having an ' à la carte' relationship with Europe, saying characteristically that we cannot be a European country only by choice".
