Wooden boat with 120 refugees and migrants located off Karpathos
A wooden boat with 120 refugees and migrants on board was located in seas off the Aegean island of Karpathos during the night after a distress call was made to the European emergency number 112, by a passenger reporting that the craft had developed engine trouble.
Three coast guard vessels immediately initiated a search, along with a tug and two private boats and the boat was finally found in the sea region of Ammoopi and towed to Karpathos by a fishing boat.
