Large fire breaks out in southern Zakynthos
A large wildfire broke out in a forested area of Lithakia in the southern part of Zakynthos, the fire brigade said on Wednesday.
A force of 20 firemen with eight vehicles and municipal water tankers are operating in the area, while authorities are expecting Canadair and Pezetel aircraft to arrive soon. The flames are far from the village of Lithakia and houses are not threatened.
